First Timers Guide

YOUR FIRST FORBIDDEN EXPERIENCE

The time has finally arrived for us to enter the depths of The Forest. For four nights, we throw away our inhibitions and lose ourselves in everything it has to offer. Whether you’re a first-timer or reuniting with your Forbidden family, here’s everything you need to know to help create the journey of a lifetime.

You’ve already looked at the lineup poster hundreds of times, you know exactly who you want to see already – keep your eyes peeled for the Forbidden Forest 2024 app, coming VERY SOON! Here you can see all set times, set your favourites and figure out exactly where you need to be and when.

Are you bringing valuables with you and don’t fancy leaving them in your tent all day? We have a limited number of campsite lockers available to rent for the weekend. These are first come, first served so be sure to pre-book here if you need one.

We all know what the Great British weather is like, one minute it could be pouring with rain and the next it could be blistering sunshine. Prepare for all eventualities. Sun Cream, Wellies, Ponchos, shades, don’t get caught out. One thing we can be sure of is that things will get colder at night, be sure to bring layers to keep yourself warm when the sun goes down.

Be prepared to absolutely smash your step count at Forbidden Forest as you explore the depths of nature and dance your heart out. Please bear in mind that as we are in an actual forest, the ground can be uneven in places so suitable footwear will be required. Don’t ruin your weekend by bringing the wrong shoes.

The LAST thing you want when you arrive on site for the best weekend of your life is realising you can’t get your tent up. Believe us, it’s a common problem and happens more often than you think. Test your tent before you travel to make sure it all works as it should.

Still not got a tent? The Forbidden Retreat is offering three types of pre-pitched tents to book here.

When surrounded by nature, it’s normal to get a little dirty. Don’t forget to bring a few bits to help you freshen up across the weekend. Biodegradable baby wipes, hand sanitiser, dry shampoo – all of these will be your best friend. If that’s not enough to keep you going, we’ve partnered with When Nature Calls to bring you luxury showers and loos which you can book via here.

Your bags are packed, you’ve got your ticket and your lift to Belvoir Castle is sorted. That’s it, right?

Almost! Now is the time to start thinking about how you’re getting home on either Sunday night or Monday morning. All weekend camping ticket holders need to be off-site by 12PM (midday) on Monday 3rd June so planning is essential.

Coach and Shuttle bus travel is still available directly from the festival site. Check locations and timings via The Big Green Coach website here.

For any other travel questions, please refer to our FAQ page here.

Depending on when you’re arriving, you may face queues and checks getting into the festival site at peak hours. Please check the opening and last entry times here.

To speed things up, please have your ticket downloaded and your ID ready to show. Your ID must match the name on your ticket or you will not be permitted entry into Forbidden Forest.

Please ensure you have everything you need with you when you enter the festival site. Forbidden Forest operates a strict no re-entry policy so once you are on site, you will not be allowed to leave and come back for any reason.

Any items found that are not permitted into the festival site will be discarded. For a full list of prohibited items at Forbidden Forest, please refer to the T&Cs page here.

The allure of Forbidden Forest includes twists and turns around every corner. Explore the festival site when you first arrive, discover all that there is to know and ensure both you and your fellow explorers have a pre-planned meeting point if you do find yourselves lost.

You’ll have access to free water points spread around the festival site which include each of our bars. Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle and make sure you drink plenty of water whilst enjoying yourself at Forbidden Forest this year.

The Forest welcomes everybody, from all walks of life and every background. This is one place you can truly be free. No judgement is allowed within The Forest so be sure to respect those around you. Let go of your fears and embrace the sense of community that we all share with one another.

Four days of dancing means your body needs plenty of fuel. We’ve hand selected some of the best food vendors around, giving you plenty of options to keep your body moving all weekend.

Belvoir Castle is a bit out of the way but thankfully, their on-site Bistro and Farm Shop will be open from 8am each day of the festival. This will be the closest available place outside of the festival site to get food and drink for when you’re travelling to or from Forbidden Forest this year.

Not just to your phone, but to reality too. Always be aware of your surroundings and your impact to others. We’re all here to experience the ultimate journey so be sure to help others along the way.

If someone looks lost or needs help, look for a member of the Forbidden Forest team and we’ll be there to help in any way we can.

We at Forbidden Forest pride ourselves in our respect for nature and the love we have for The Forest in which we reside. We put in a lot of effort to make sure we remove anything we bring, making sure that The Forest is returned to its natural state once Forbidden Forest is over.

All we ask is for you to do the same thing – if you bring something to Forbidden Forest, please be sure to also take it home. This will help us ensure that The Forest is ready to welcome us back year on year.
