International Women’s Day 2025

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we’re taking a look back at all the ICONIC females in the industry that have helped build and shape Forbidden Forest to what it is today.

For the last 9 years, The Forest has welcomed female DJs from around the world to create unforgettable moments that last a lifetime. From highly anticipated and upcoming DJs, to global superstars and headline acts. Each of these phenomenal women have left an unforgettable mark on Forbidden Forest, bringing their own unique energy and passion to the decks.

From Hannah Wants, a true pioneer in bassy house music to Nicole Moudaber, a global techno icon who has smashed dancefloors with her deep, hypnotic sets for years, these women have redefined festival experiences across the world.

The ‘First Lady of Defected’ and powerhouse Sam Divine has brought her infectious energy to Forbidden Forest multiple times over the years, whilst new and upcoming stars like Alisha & Salomé Le Chat continue to push the underground scene.

The list of talent continues with Charlie Tee, the first female host of BBC Radio 1’s Drum & Bass Show, who has cemented herself as a true force in the DnB scene. Multi-talented DJ, singer & producer Bklava lit up Forbidden Forest last year with her mix of garage, house & UK bass. We also can’t forget the likes of Hannah Laing, Fleur Shore & Gina Breeze and of course the 24HR Garage Girls who always bring an unstoppable energy wherever they go.

There are far too many icons who have entered The Forest to name them all but with each beat dropped, each track played and every unforgettable set delivered, these women have shaped the Forbidden Forest legacy. Their sets at not just Forbidden Forest, but at some of the biggest stages all over the world are more than just a performance, they’re a testament to the power, talent and influence of female DJs in electronic music.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we thank each and every female that’s brought us to this moment and look forward to championing female DJs each and every year.
